A View From the Inside!
In 1919 On September 9, the Parliament of the First Republic of Armenia adopted a law (N 439) to establish the Ethnographic-Anthropological Museum-Library, which is considered the date of the foundation of the state-level museum system and the History Museum of Armenia in our country. After the adoption of the founding law, it took about two years for the museum to organize its first exhibition and several more years to open its inaugural permanent exhibition. Among the founding departments, where many well-known representatives of our intelligentsia worked, the departments of archeology and ethnography have over a hundred years of experience in scientific research and cultural activities.
The valuable collection of the museum, amounting to around 400,000 thousand, is the result of the activities and efforts of the devotees who worked here in different years and are still working here, as well as many donors and partners.
