From April 22, 2022, the "Teresa Mirzoyan 100" retrospective exhibition dedicated to the famous Armenian sculptor's 100th anniversary will be held in the "Artsiv" hall of the Cafesjian Art Center (GAC).

The ceremonial opening of the exhibition took place on April 21, with the participation of Tereza Mirzoyan's family, relatives and a number of invited artists.

Tereza Mirzoyan (1922-2016) is one of the prominent artists who made an important contribution to Armenian sculpture of the 20th century, whose name, unfortunately, is not known to the public. Nevertheless, he not only left a rich artistic heritage, but also had an invaluable influence on the development of Armenian sculpture, being one of the first professors of the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia and working in the main Armenian artistic educational institution for about sixty years.

Summarizing the path of Tereza Mirzoyan, this exhibition gives an opportunity to discover the many layers of the sculptor's aesthetic approach, plastic language, use of different techniques and materials, and thematic range.


The "Teresa Mirzoyan 100" retrospective will be open to the public from April 22 to June 19, 2022. Entry is free.

"Tereza Mirzoyan 100" retrospective exhibition, dedicated to the centenary of the celebrated sculptor, will be on display at the Eagle Gallery of the Cafesjian Center for the Arts from April 22, 2022.

A private preview of the show took place on April 21 with Tereza Mirzoyan's family, relatives, and many invited artists.


Tereza Mirzoyan (1922-2016) was one of the significant artists who had an enormous input in the Armenian sculpture of the 20th century. Unfortunately, her name is not that famous among a broader society in Armenia. Nevertheless, not only she left a rich artistic heritage, but also had a priceless impact on the development of Armenian sculpture, being one of the first lecturers at the Fine Arts Academy of Armenia and working there for nearly sixty years.

Summing up Tereza Mirzoyan's oeuvre, the show gives an opportunity to reveal the wide range of layers in her aesthetic approach, artistic language, varied techniques and media, as well as themes.
